In his new book, “The Half Has Never Been Told: Slavery and the Making of American Capitalism”, Cornell University history Prof. Edward Baptist sets out to dispel preconceived notions of slavery as a pre-modern institution completely disconnected from the massive economic growth of the U.S. in the 19th Century. He reveals that slavery was, in fact, the very foundation of our economy. He joins us to discuss his findings.
